Starting again in Saba

I'm in Kota Kinabalu now, capital of Saba. It's a new state and I'm working on the new game plan to go with it.

This is my second full day in KK. Aside from major frustration with Internet cafes, I accomplished little yesterday. Largely this is because the information offices were closed.

Kota Kinabalu is a bit livelier than the towns in Sarawak. Lots of markets and other activity after dark. Food seems a bit more expensive. Other differences, I'm sure, will show in time.

Today I did find the Information offices open for business. However, I'm not sure it did me all that much good. Saba is much more heavily touristed than Sarawak. I expected the information services to be at least as good and probably more polished. Not the case. Between two information offices and the park services I find a fair bit of gloss but little in the way of concrete information or organization. I'm often referred to tour operators for basic information about the parks. It's not even easy to find the local dive centers. *Sigh*, it's going to take me a day or two to sort this out. I hope it doesn't take longer.
